Fenway Park: Game 6 of the 2013 World Series

This photograph was made on the evening of Wednesday, the 30th of October, in 2013, when 38,447 people stormed through the gates of Fenway and became part of what was very likely the most momentous sporting event to take place in the city of Boston in their time on this earth.
This was a life experience for millions of people. This was about a town and a team, about ending the emptiness of 95 years. And, of course, about the century-old ballpark that never gets old.
While this photograph was being made, the path to the first Red Sox World Series win, at home, in Fenway, for the first time in 95 years, was being paved; mostly by facial hair. And I mean that quite literally…. about the path being paved that is, as this photo was taken at the exact moment as Shane Victorino clears the bases with a double off the Green Monster in the third inning to give the Red Sox a 3-0 lead! You can even see Victorino running to third base as Jonny Gomes is running into home with the other scorers waiting to welcome him!
Go look, I’ll wait...see, I told you!
You can also see the two Cardinal outfielders, one of which that threw the ball back into home, but just not in time.
This is a unique perspective and view of a proud, heart warming, historic night and moment, that will be talked of for years and decades to come for all those that call Boston home, and have forsaken the letter “r”.

Welcome to the City of Champions!
